Quincy Taylor Brown, (born June 4,1991) is an American R&B singer/songwriter/rapper who is more professionally known as Quincy. He is the son of 80's R&B singer, Al B. Sure and the adopted son of music and fashion mogul, Sean "Diddy" Combs. He was named after his godfather, the legendary Quincy Jones. Quincy was born in Manhattan, NY but was raised in Columbus, GA. He currently resides in Los Angeles. Being the son of a singer and growing up surrounded by different artists, Quincy was naturally expected to follow in his father's footsteps. Instead, he decided to try his hand at rapping and released the song "Da Fly Way" ft Yung Joc in 2008. It wasn't until his late grandmother told him "you have a voice" and that he "needed to sing" that he decided that to pursue singing. Quincy stated in The Harbor TV interview that it took him a while to pursue the singing because he was scared to let someone hear his voice because he wasn't even comfortable with himself. He has stated in interviews that his biggest musical influences are Biggie, Marvin Gaye, Al Green and Luther Vandross. Quincy's sound is a mix of Al B. Sure with a little bit of Drake.
Between 2009-2014, Quincy released his mixtape "Nothing Special" as well as songs, "Voicemail" and "Stay Awhile" ft Kendre which appeared on BET's 106 & Park. In December 2014, Quincy released "Friends First" ft French Montana which premiered on SKEETV and Power 106, is his second most successful song to date. Quincy has also performed overseas as well as in Canada. In April 2016, Quincy released the free rap track titled "Blue Dot" (ft electric guitarist, Xeryus Gittens) in which he talks about "topping off the night" with his dad's widely popular Ciroc vodka. Blue Dot is a change of pace from his other songs because of the electric guitar infusion. Quincy is currently working on his debut album which doesn't have a release date set and plans to go on tour. On June 24, 2016, he formally announced that he is now signed to Bad Boy/Epic Records.

Throughout my childhood, I was never a big fan of Hip Hop/Rap. Mostly because what I heard was on the radio. I had always liked Eminem and other big names like Jay Z but other than that, I didn't listen to any other music in the genre. But when I moved to Florida in 2006, EVERYTHING changed.
I began to fall in love with Hip Hop after listening to Lil Wayne. He had this way of relating words to other meanings that would just make you bust out in laughter. Mainly because of how incredibly genius the line was. It showed me that it wasn't just music. It was poetry.
One day, we had an idea. Brandt, Robby, and myself grabbed a guitar hero mic, plugged it into audacity, and went over a Lil Wayne beat that we were obsessed with. On that very day, Cliz was born.
First thing I needed to do was find myself. I started writing about the typical things you hear about on the radio; money, cars, clothes, etc. Quickly after, I realized that wasn't me because I didn't relate to the wealth.
The first real song I ever wrote was about my cousin, Ryan, who passed in July of 2006. After writing that song, I was positive that my purpose was to tell stories and paint vivid pictures through song and poetry.
When you hear my music now, you hear my pain, struggle, and determination like never before. That is why I created my brand "May Nothing Stop You". So that I can give those people that have gone through similar situations hope to carry on. Hope for a better tomorrow. That is why I write. That is why I am Cliz.
